The Adaptive Storefront

Shop windows, billboards, bus stops, car showrooms…don’t have to be passive experiences. In the below video, a prototype interactive digital display is seen adapting to whoever stands in front of it. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

The display is able to identify shoppers using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and instantly reacts to a set of personal data stored on the shoppers mobile device, such as shopping habits and preferences. Shoppers can also swipe through the personalised content, place items in a virtual shopping cart, and purchase straight from the display.

How to become the most awarded agency in the world?

Agencies spend loads of money each year entering their work in award shows like Cannes, One Show etc. Rethink, an agency from Canada decided to do things a little different this year. Instead of investing tons of money in award show entries, they decided to tap into the growing trend of 3D printing and simply print their own awards. This way they became the most awarded agency in the world in a matter of days. ๐Ÿ˜†

Yahoo! Hands On Search

Yahoo! Japan recently introduced the worldโ€™s first hands on search, where they allowed visually impaired children in Tokyo to search with their hands.

A voice activated vending machine was set up which recognised the children’s verbal search. The machine was also connected to a 3D printer which recreated the objects the children searched for. This was the first time visually impaired children were able to touch what they could not see i.e. from giraffes to horses to skyscrapers.
