Snickers Hungry Purchase Resale

The global Snickers campaign ‘You’re not you when you’re hungry’ has enjoyed it’s fair share of buzz world over. Now to extend this campaign in Dubai and introduce people to the real threats of doing things when hungry, ad agency Impact BBDO created the ‘Snickers Hungry Purchase Resale’ campaign.

The campaign was based on the insight that often during sales, people buy things they later regret. Snickers blamed these shopping bloopers on hunger and so in partnership with Dubizzle.com (the region’s leading classified website) allowed shoppers to upload items they wanted to sell straight into special Snickers branded banners that appeared on the homepage of Dubizzle.com. Who says plain fridge magnets cannot be revolutionized? 🙂 Here are two brands who have done just that, and in the process also enhanced their brand experience with their consumers.

VIP Fridge Magnet

Red Tomato Pizza in Dubai take their loyal pizza patrons very seriously. So they created the ‘Pizza Emergency Button’, a fridge magnet with a difference. Each button had a loyal pizza patrons favorite pizza programmed into its memory. When hungry all that the loyal patron required to do was flip the pizza box lid on the magnet and press on the pizza button inside.

Wifi Water Magnet

Evian in Paris created a simple fridge magnet that allowed owners to order water and request a particular delivery time directly from their fridge!

The ‘Smart Drop’ magnet was made up of a microcontroller, LED screen, a wireless chip, battery and an inbuilt HTML5 app that did all the work.

Micra savvy with space

From under-the-seat shoe drawer to the extra large glovebox, the 2011 Nissan Micra makes the most out of what it’s got. So to reach drivers who value space savvy functionality, TBWA\RAAD Dubai created a banner that follows Micra’s lead. They created a banner so clever with space, that one could use the ad to sell ones car!

Nissan “Create your Terrain”

In the Middle East, offroading is an all-consuming passion. However, there are few online experiences that reflect the imagination or spirit of offroading in the real world. So to launch Nissan’s latest SUV family, ad agency TBWA\RAAD took the challenge of offroading online. They showed people how Nissan SUVs can take on any terrain — even ones designed by them.

Create Your Terrain uses webcam detection to let viewers create their own digital terrains, and challenge a Nissan to conquer it. Since the launch of the microsite, thousands of people created a terrain — covering over 80 thousand square kilometres. But perhaps most important, it connected offroaders with a road they hadn’t traveled before — their own offroad — that’s all online.
